one other key note when funneling is using your wbs to open up the compartment you wish for you golem to enter through. I like to hold off on releasing my wbs until the outside trash buildings impeding my funnel are cleared. once they go down release your wbs and then your king. A second note to remember when you are planning on using your wbs is whether or not your golem is being attacked by a splash damage defense (wizard tower, mortar). If so, plan on releasing your golem and your wbs off set from each other, meaning a couple spots apart, so the splash damage doesn't kill your wbs and you don't have to worry about timing your wbs around a mortar shot. And lastly remember, your king will agro the next closest building, so always error on the side of making your funnel wider then you would need, to prevent your king from wrapping around the entire base.
I know these steps seem complicated, and they are, but once you start doing them regularly you'll find they become second nature and become easier and easier.
